Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning

The Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning (DCERP) founded in 1993, is one of the four academic units of the College of Human Ecology. It functions within the harmonizing human frameworks in relation to their environment. Its ultimate aim is to contribute towards the national goal of improving the quality of life and general well-being of the Filipino people.Vision
A leading institution providing high quality education, research, and public service in human settlements planning towards sustainable development. Its mission is anchored in the development and promotion of sustainable and resilient human settlements through:
1. education of environmental planning professionals with holistic and interdisciplinary perspective;
2. knowledge generation in situational analysis planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development; and,
3. provision of technical assistance to various institutions.
Research
DCERP follows the Sustainable Development Goal No. 11 for its research agenda, linked with diverse specializations from its multi- and trans-disciplinary set of faculty members.

To conduct instruction, research, and extension programs that are instrumental in the development and strengthening of organizations and social institutions to enable them to actively participate in organizing, mobilizing, and managing human and environmental resources towards economic productivity, social development and ecological well-being
Goals
The Department of Social Development Services (DSDS) strategically moves toward this mission through its thrusts in institution, research, and extension
1. Produce graduates who understand social development with a human ecological perspective, communities and community services and programs2. Train professionals who can contribute effectively to the transformation of community organizations and institutions so that these can effectively serve the needs of the people3. Develop professionals with the capability for
i. Functional community environmental analysis

Promote optimum nutrition by advancing knowledge, innovative research, and dynamic public service.
Goals
The Institute of Human Nutrition and Food (IHNF) aims to:
1. produce competent graduates in human nutrition and food;
2. conduct innovative research on food, nutrition and dietetics; and deliver dynamic public service and quality administrative services; and
3. create venues and opportunities for holistic development of faculty and staff.
Research
The Institute has established its niche in food and nutrition research towards achieving development and food security. The Institute's faculty members and research personnel are key experts in the rice grain quality studies, biofortification, nutrigenomics, nutrition surveillance, nutrition-sensitive food security endeavors, econutrition, and other key nutrition research fields.
